Ruling Party loses Secretary General

Secretary General of the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Ecklen Kudontoni, has died in a car accident.

The accident occurred at Bua in Dowa as Kudontoni was travelling to Kasungu for political errands.

According to DPP spokesman Francis Kasaila President Peter Mutharika is “extremely saddened” and shocked by the demise of Kudontoni.

“His demise is a major loss for the party,” bemoaned Kasaira.

According to police Kudontoni died on spot.

Kudontoni was appointed DPP secretary general by President Peter Mutharika after the Minister of Gender, Jean Kalirani was unceremoniously removed.
