Muslim students in the country have been encouraged to stay focused on their goals and strive to achieve academic excellence.
The call has been made during graduation ceremonies at Ummu Habiba Islamic Centre and Zaid Bin Thabit Islamic Centre, under the Darul Quran Foundation in Salima District.
Speaking during a graduation ceremony at Ummu Habiba Islamic Centre, Member of Parliament for Salima Central East, Sakeenah Chingomanje, said students can achieve their goals by dedicating their time and efforts towards pursuing their dreams. She also urged the young people to have a clear vision as they strive for a better future.
Guest of Honour at Zaid Bin Thabit Islamic Centre graduation ceremony, Sheikh Ahmad Chienda, who is also the Director of Al-Rayyan Charity Trust, emphasized on the importance of Islamic education, describing it as the most valuable form of knowledge that earns a person respect and strengthens relationship with Allah.
Sheikh Chienda said parents who prioritize Islamic education are laying a strong and better foundation for faith, discipline, and good moral character for their children.
He also advised the graduates to use the knowledge they have acquired with wisdom and humility, cautioning them against engaging in unnecessary arguments with fellow Islamic scholars, saying such behaviours tarnishes the image of Islam.
Director of the schools, Sheikh Zaid Buyana Abu-Muhammad, said the institutions is guided by three core principles that’s education, compassion, and service which are aimed at nurturing future Islamic leaders.
Sheikh Buyana revealed that nine students, comprising both boys and girls, graduated this year, bringing the total number of graduates from the two centres to 91.
He further encouraged Muslims to invest in Islamic education, saying supporting the growth of Islamic education is a rewarding act that contributes to the development of the Deen.
