Radio Islam Listeners Association Establishes Committee to Oversee Operations
Radio Islam Listeners in Lilongwe have called on all Muslims in the district to join hands in doing charitable activities in order to promote Islam.
The call was made on Sunday during a meeting organized to discuss issues that can make the association vibrant in Lilongwe.
Representative of the publicity secretary Abdul Aziiz Hanafi said they decided to map the way forward for the group to be beneficial to everyone.
“Muslims should join the grouping and work together in order to improve lives of the needy,” Hanafi said.
He bemoaned low participation of Muslims in their meetings though the Capital city has many Muslims.
Therefore he urged leaders of Zones to take a leading role in ensuring that many people join the group.
He then said the group will open other zones in some parts of the district.
“In addition he said the group has plans to visit Dzaleka refugee Camp to see Muslims who are facing many problems such as lack of food and clothes,” Hanafi added.
He also said the group has established a sub-committee to ensure that every Muslim is reached with necessary assistance.
Commenting, Lilongwe Islamic Information Bureau Coordinator Sheikh Ibrahim Fiqrah who attended the meeting advised radio Islam listeners in Lilongwe to be exemplary and abide by Islamic principles.
Radio Islam Listeners Association was established in 2004 to assist one another in times of deaths, Nikah, Sunnah, Akikah and many others as part of Ibadaah
