Ministry of Education changes school timetable over heatwave
Ministry of Education has temporarily changed school timetable by shortening study hours from 7am until 11 am for the next four days.
This is in response to a warning of a heat wave to be experienced in Shire Valley areas with hot temperatures of between 40°C to 42°C.
Secretary for Education Chikondano Mussa says in protection of both teachers and learners; institutions in the shire valley and surrounding areas must allow learners and teachers to wear loose clothes to allow airflow as well as keep from direct sunshine, among other measures.
According to Mussa, normal school timetable and dress code shall resume in all schools on Monday next week
