MEC Commissioner Linda Kunje arrested for obstructing presidential convoy

Commissioner of Malawi Electoral Commission Linda Kunje has surrendered herself to eastern region Police headquarters for allegedly obstructing convoy of President Dr Lazarus Chakwera

This happened along Limbe Zomba road when Chakwera went to attend graduation of students at Chancellor College last week

Kunje driver was arrested few days ago but police said were hunting for her as she was at large.

Commissioner Kunje and Commissioner Jean Mathanga are two commissioners in the new Malawi Malawi Electoral Commission who Chakwera refused to sign their contract because parliament had found them incompetent.

Kunje became famous after she told members of the parliamentary committee that “You were also elected using the tippex.”
