MISA Malawi urges government to follow law in public officers recruitment
Media Institute of Southern Africa MISA Malawi has urged government to follow laid down proper procedures in hiring public officers
The call comes after government appointed Chikumbutso Mtumodzi as Director of Information in the ministry of Information and Civic education without advertising the the vacancy.
Speaking to radio islam, chairperson for MISA, Tereza Temweka Ndanga said they find the hiring of new public officers without following due process unfortunate and a betrayal to Malawians.
According to Ndanga MISA Malawi fears that the trend may creep into other media bodies such as Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority MACRA and Malawi Broadcasting Corporation MBC.
“Ministry of information, MBC and MACRA are statutory institutions with well laid down recruitment procedures and government must let those procedures guide recruitment processes,” Ndanga
Therefore she urged government to stick to the law in recruiting officers
