Eastern region police arrests Mozambicans, Malawians over armed robberies

Police in eastern region has arrested two Mozambicans and four Malawians for a spate of armed robberies in the region

The suspects have been identified as Juvencio Belute 41 and Ali Kandido 36, Mozambican nationals and Malawians Isaac John 25, Hassan Wyson 35, Michael Chimombo 33 and Dines Chimombo 19.

According to investigations the gang armed with panga knives and unidentified rifle broke into houses in Mangochi and Mangochi where they stole items worth 3.6 million kwacha.

Police has recovered some items and all the suspects are remanded to prison
