DPP Northern region governor convicted

Mzimba magistrate court has convicted DPP regional governor for the north Mzomera Ngwira over abuse of office.

Ngwira was arrested by ant corruption bureau in 2018 for diverting funds from Local Development Fund LDF when he was Member of Parliament for Mzimba Hora constituency

The bureau carried out investigations following an allegation it received in September 2010 over how LDF funds were used.

The court was adjourned to Monday afternoon for sentencing

Ngwira was appointed on the position of DPP regional governor for the north in readiness for June 23 court sanctioned fresh presidential election
