Balaka hospital, Chiendausiku health centre improve service delivery- GLOHOMO
Global Hope Mobilisation GLOHOMO says Balaka district hospital and Chiendausiku health centre have improved service delivery
In March this year GLOHOMO in collaboration with OXFAM embarked on a project in sex districts including Balaka aimed at empowering communities to demand and ensure good health services are universalized.
According to Austin Dalaban project officer at GLOHOMO since they started the project sanitation, attitude of service providers and health center management committees have improved.
“We converged here to assess the project and challenges faced so that we come up with solutions and map the way forward,” Dalaban said
However he mentioned delayed training of the committees and involvement of politicians as some of the factors that led to poor service delivery hence the need to look into.
Commenting Balaka district health services administrator McCathy Makata called for joint efforts between service providers and communities on addressing some of the challenges which health facilities are facing.
Makata asked partners to support the hospital in some of its operations as it has not fully recovered from fire accident.
Balaka district chairperson Michael Chauluka agreed with Makata saying funds allocated to the sector are not equivalent to required activities for proper service delivery.
