MWO halts ijtma preparations due to Covid-19 pandemic

Muslim Women Organisation MWO has halted preparations for this year’s women Ijtma.

In an interview with Radio Islam, Chairperson for the organization Asiatu Lipenga says this is in response to the covid-19 measures.

According to Lipenga they had already started preparation for the gathering which was anticipated to be held in September this year.

” MWO cannot risk the lives of the women who play a vital role in the society hence the suspension of our preparations for the annual event,” She said.

Lipenga has also asked women to take covid-19 seriously by following all the precautionary measures put in place.
