Supreme Court of appeal has dismissed an application of Malawi electoral commission MEC to extend the 150 days of holding fresh elections which were set by the constitutional court.
The dismissal comes three days after the same Supreme Court threw out MEC application to hire South African lawyers to represent it in elections appeal case.
Meanwhile, Supreme Court will make a ruling in nearest future on the appeal by president Muthalika and the commission to dismiss the constitutional court nullification of presidential elections.
Chief Justice Andrew Nyirenda did not specify the date when the ruling will be made.
“I thank you all for your cooperation the court will make its determination in the nearest future,” Nyirenda said
