Islamic Relief Malawi empowers 5000 youths
Islamic Relief Malawi says its youth empowerment and social change pilot project which has just phased out has been a success.
Project officer for Orphan and child well being Hajira Halilu made the remarks in Zingwangwa, Blantyre during a youth interaction project aimed at officially phasing out the project.
Halilu said through the project 5000 youths have been reached although only 150 were targeted.
“We will reach other areas with the project will reach other areas if donors will be willing to fund,” she said
The project was being implemented by Islamic relief in partnership with Young Achievers for Development YAD.
Executive director of YAD Jefferson Milanzi said “with the project they have seen a huge number of youths availing themselves in their youth clubs.”
Milanzi added that as far as the project is phasing out the youth groups will get cash to enable them run their affairs
