Police at Kamuzu international Airport has arrested a Nigerian National Humphrey Dubem Okoro for attempting to export dangerous drug called Cocaine.
Public relations officer for Airport Police sub inspector Sapulain Chitonde Lee says Okoro who was expecting to board Ethiopian Airlines on his was to Bamako in Mali.
Lee said as per procedure his bag went through police X-ray machine which later exposed the deal a thing that prompted police detectives to conduct a physical searching of the bag and identifying the owner.
“Then Okoro fled but police scanned perimeters of the Airport and was found in a cruising taxi heading to Lilongwe city,” Lee said
The police confiscated cocaine drug weighing 0.7 grams concealed in a black plastic paper at the back of his laptop bag.
