Malawi To Host SADC Electricity Conference

Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority MERA will host this year’s annual conference of regional electricity regulations Association of Southern Africa RERA from 13th to 14th November at Bingu International Convention Centre BICC in Lilongwe.

Speaking to the media at BICC chief executive officer of MERA Collins Magalasi said the conference will benefit SADC countries in terms of energy sharing.

“RERA is an association which was established by SADC energy ministers in July 2002 with the objective of boosting electricity generation and supply,” Magalasi said

Magalasi said various experts will attend the conference whose theme is regulating sustainable energy sector.

He also said Malawi is shining in terms of energy regulation among SADC countries.
