Beneficiaries Receive Few Free Mosquito Nets
As free mosquito net distribution exercise is underway in Blantyre, beneficiaries in urban areas are receiving less amount of nets than the registered number at household level.
Some of the beneficiaries told Radio Islam that when they received the nets on Friday last week they were requested to keep one coupon as they will receive the remainder later.
For instance, a household with four beneficiaries received three mosquito nets instead of four.
When contacted on the matter, Blantyre District Environmental Health Officer, Penjani Chunda confirmed the development.
“It is indeed that we’re giving the beneficiaries few nets because of shortage of the nets,” Chunda said
However, he assured the beneficiaries that the next consignment is expected to arrive in the country therefore they will receive the remaining net.
800, thousand people are expected to receive the mosquito nets in Blantyre.
