China dismisses US report about religious freedoms
China officials have dismissed a United States report about religious freedoms in the country, saying Washington uses religion as an excuse to interfere in internal Chinese affairs.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang said in a statement that the report by the United States was full of false remarks and misled the public.
Gang added that Beijing protects its citizens’ religious freedom according to law.
He therefore, urged the United States side to discard bias and stop using religion to interfere in China’s internal affairs.
The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) on Friday issued its annual report concerning religious freedom in China.
