Radio Islam listeners Association has new president
Radio Islam Listeners Association has elected its new president Yusuf James Manpower who competed with Suleimana Chitera.
Manpower was elected by 516 out of 549 voters during the polls at Mpaweni Motel in Liwonde.
Speaking in an interview with radio Islam soon after the elections, the newly elected president said is very happy and satisfied with how the polls were conducted.
“I will use the opportunity to fix up some of the problems the organization is experiencing and promised people a lot from him,” Manpower said.
He added that he will make sure Radio Islam listeners association is registered and has office after 17 years in existence.
Manpower also said they will soon open an account, branches in other districts and have a stable constitution.
He expressed worry over lack of communication as the main challenge in their organization.
Therefore Manpower said “there is need to build strong coordination between the Radio and its Listeners.”
He then called upon all members of the organization to be united and tolerate each other.
Meanwhile, he has promised to work together with former leadership to build a strong organization.
In his reaction, guest of honour Yusuf Chinyada the station manager of Radio Islam commended the association for conducting free and fair elections
“Radio Islam listeners association plays a very important role in complementing the efforts of the institution of spreading the word of God,” said Chinyada.
Since 2001, radio Islam listeners association has branches in six districts.
