In his remarks Dr. Kaisi said functional errors within security agencies that have the constitutional mandate to protect the lives of people, create loopholes for the people not to fear the law.
“Security is a very complex matter that needs the collective efforts as well as sophiscated rules and strategies to combat security issues in the country”, He explained.
Dr. Kaisi suggested the need to tighten security in order to cartel the killings and loss of lives.
Concurring with Kaisi, A human Rights activist Micheal kaiyatsa said it is regrettable to note that cases are rising despite law provides that everyone has a right to life.
“The rising cases of murder in the country very regrettable noting that the country’s constitution under section 16 provides clearly that every person has the right to life so hearing about the rise in cases of killings can also be an indicator that something is wrong in the country”.
kaiyatsa added that the rising cases of killings happening in the country can also be an indicator that something is wrong in the country looking at what is happening in the economic landscape saying there is evidence that when people are struggling economically, they avenge their anger on others.
Kaiyatsa therefore called on the security agencies especially the police, to make sure that those behind the evil acts are arrested, prosecuted and punished in accordance with the law.
