International relations expert Sheikh Abbas Muslim Vinjenje has warned that the Israel-America and Iran war will have serious consequences in most African and European countries amid growing concerns that the affairs of most countries far and wide will be affected as a result of the war.
Sh. Vinjenje told Radio Islam that since the war started affecting neighboring countries, most of them have closed their air spaces, waterways and immigration borders which has resulted in the energy sectors of gas and oil being greatly affected.
Vinjenje said most businesses would nearly come to a halt, especially to countries and institutions that deal with the Middle East countries.
“This is so because Iran is the sole country controlling almost 70 percent of the Strait of Hormuz, this is the strait which exports gas and oil from the Gulf countries like United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar to African Countries and Europe”, he explained.
He added that by 3rd March 2026, reports indicated that almost 50 percent of oil and gas in transit were also affected by the joint US-Israel attacks on the Middle East’s energy explorer bases.
On 1st March ministry of foreign affairs, advised Malawian citizens to avoid travel to or through the Middle East due to the escalating security tensions in most parts of the region.
The Aljazeera.com reported on Wednesday, 3 March 2026, that the United States and Israel’s war with Iran spilled over into the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints, prompting a surge in oil prices.
Shipping through the strait, which carries the largest quantity of Oil and Gas consumed globally, has been halted amid Iranian attacks on oil tankers in the region.
