Islamic Education and Research Academy (IERA) says seeking knowledge and strengthening the faith in Allah is the only foundation for the muslim students to succeed in their life.
IERA’s Global manager Rashid Adnaan said this on Sunday, 22 February 2026 during a Ramadhan Iftar program organised by Ashraful Aid at Iqra’a University in Blantyre.
Adnaan said Islam promotes education, discipline and good character, noting that the first revelation encouraged reading to spread Allah’s message to humanity.
He has however encouraged the students to study diligently while remaining close to Allah through prayers, reading the Qur’an and giving charity, adding that true success and happiness comes from faith rather than wealth.
Ashraful Aid Project Administrator Ismail Ngongondo said the program was organised to share Islamic teachings with the students.
Ngongondo added that research has shown that many university students tend to relax in matters of faith, hence the initiative to remind them their roles and responsibilities as Muslims and encourage them to become responsible citizens.
In his remarks, Iqra’a University Principal Manafi Katonga commended Ashraful Aid for organising the Iftar program for both male and female students, saying it has helped to reinforce moral values and remind learners of their responsibilities as Muslims.
