21 girls from Michiru View Private School are in police custody at Blantyre police following a fire incident that has damaged several school properties at the institution
Speaking in interview with Radio Islam, Blantyre police deputy spokesperson, Doris Mithi says a group of form two students led by Chisomo Justin and other female students were not happy with the changing of closing date from 19th to 21st December.
Mithi says because of this the learners mobilized themselves and torched the girls Hostel, head master’s office whereby school books, certificates of former students got burnt before setting ablaze the school’s stores damaging 90 mattresses
“Investigations are under way to establish exact value of the damaged property adding the girls are likely going to answer arson charges,” says Mithi
