Chileka Police arrest Mozambican for Externalizing Gold
Chileka Airport Police has arrested a Mozambican Julio Armando aged 44 for attempting to externalize Gold without authority
The police report states that Armando was found with 5 bunches of Gold weighing 40 kilograms
There were 3 banches containing 12 bars of Gold each, 1 bunch containing 18 bars of Gold and another bunch containing 16 bars of Gold
On 27th January inspector Owen Kanduku of Chileka fiscal police received information that there was a person at VIP lounge who was suspected to have Gold
Together with sub inspector Namboya and sub inspector Zgambo took the bags to X-ray machine for rescan
During interrogation Armando explained that he is from Tete province and was given the Gold by his boss to take them to Dubai
The suspect came to Malawi through Mwanza border on 26th January on transit to United Arab Emirates
He was issued bail but police seized the Gold and his passport
