Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMCM) has phased out the university diploma program in nursing and midwifery to improve efficiency of nursing profession.
According to a communication signed by Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Judith Chirembo, the diploma-level training will only be limited to Nursing and Midwifery Technician programmes.
Chirembo adds that future professional upgrades should transition directly to Bachelor of Science programmes rather than diploma programmes.
