UNICEF calls for Sustained Efforts to address Cholera in Malawi

UNICEF country director has called for sustained and multisectoral efforts to address root causes of cholera outbreak in Malawi

Shadrack Omol has made these remarks during a multisectoral meeting on cholera in Lilongwe

Omol says by mid-January 2025 Malawi has recorded 272 cases and 14 deaths

He has applauded presidential task force for its control efforts and development of national cholera control program

According to him in 2022 to 2023 cholera outbreak Malawi over 59000 cases and 1772 deaths
