Malawi launches 16 Days of Activism

This year’s 16 Days of Activism against GBV have been launched in Phalombe district

Minister of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare, Jean Sendeza said observed many women are not reporting violence for fear of losing support from husbands.

Chairperson of NGO Gender Coordination Network Maggie Kathewera Banda said the network will ensure that women that are vying for elective political positions are protected from political violence.

United Nations, Resident Coordinator, Rebecca Adda-Dontoh called for adequate budgetary allocation for women and girls empowerment programmes
