ICC issues warrants of arrest for Israeli Prime Minister, former Defence Minister
International Criminal Court issues warrants of arrest for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant
The warrants charge Israel’s Netanyahu and Gallant with “crimes against humanity and war crimes”.
The ICC says there are “reasonable grounds” to believe the two officials “intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival”.
The warrants come some six months after ICC’s chief prosecutor Karim Khan applied for them.
In August, Khan urged the court’s judges to “urgently” rule on this request.
Meanwhile, World Leaders have welcomed ICC’s issuance of warrant of arrest for Netanyahu and Gallant
