MERA stops Fuel Sale in Jerrycans in Cities

Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority MERA has ordered fuel service stations in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu and Zomba to stop selling fuel in jerry cans, drums and other containers without authorization

According to MERA this directive has been made after noting an increase of fuel trading malpractices amidst fuel scarcity

The Authority says is illegal to sell fuel above maximum price which remains 2530 per litre for Petrol and 2734 kwacha for Diesel
