Registered NGO’s increase in Malawi by almost half

Non-Governmental Organisations NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA) has said the number of organisations registering with the institution has increased from 77 last year to 148 this year.

Edward Chileka Banda, Chief Executive Officer for NGORA speaking during this year’s NGO Day commemoration at Sanjika in Blantyre said the number of NGO’s submitting their annual reports has increased from 432 to 498

Chileka Banda further said those renewing their licences has jumped from 481 to 604 NGO’s

On his part President Lazarus Chakwera says is pleased with such statistics from NGORA therefore encouraged the NGO’s to continue supporting government in its development activities
