KUHES challenged to conduct research on real issues in health sector
Kamuzu University of Health Sciences KUHES has been challenged to conduct research on real issues affecting the country’s health sector.
This was said during the opening of KUHES third Research dissemination conference in Blantyre.
In her speech Minister of health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda said the country is still grappling to resolve issues affecting health sector as such the university must use Malawian problems to come up with solutions.
Chiponda said it is depressing to continue asking for support from other countries to resolve issues affecting the health sector.
She however said is impressed with performance of KUHES following the delinking process.
Chiponda said 95 percent of the construction works for cancer centre have been completed
In his remarks Kuhes Vice chancellor professor Macpherson Mullewa says the university has embraced the culture of innovations to understand and create a health system that is responsive to health care needs
Professor Mulewa says Kuhes is investing in training of researchers among other personal to fill up the gaps in research
Guest Speaker professor Salome Maswime of University of Cape Town concurs with Chiponda hence asking Kuhes to be a people centred university
The three days conference has brought together 800 local and international experts in health among other sectors
