Mulanje South East MP distributes fertilizer to 17 groups from CDF

Mulanje south east law maker Naomi Kilekwa Phiri has distributed NPK fertilizer to 17 groups to do irrigation farming to overcome hunger crisis that has affected thousands of people in the area.

Phiri said that people in her constituency are facing acute hunger crisis in the past 4 years and worsened by cyclone Freddy

She said each group consisting of between 50 and 100 people who grow maize and vegetables

The lawmaker is expected to distribute 270 bags of NPK and UREA fertilizer to farmers in the area using 100 million kwacha from constituency development fund.

One of the beneficiaries from Milonde EPA Peter Sanderson Chalamwendo said the donation will help people to have enough food and be self-reliant
