Malawi Holds Civic Space Dialogue

Youth and Society YAS has said the Malawi Civic Space Dialogue which has brought together various professionals will address the challenges which the civil society organisations have been raising to government

Speaking during the opening ceremony executive director of YAS Charles Kajoloweka says the Dialogue is a good platform for the voices of the people to be held and hold government accountable

Kajoloweka said Malawi has made significant strides in enacting laws and policies that protect rights

In his speech chief justice Rezine Mzikamanda says the judiciary will continue protecting the constitutional order and human rights despite the many criticisms it receives

He said the arm of government recognizes that well founded criticisms help them to improve the way they do things

Mzikamanda said the Malawi Civic Space Dialogue provides them an opportunity to hear and exchange thoughts about how the judiciary operates and which areas must improve
