BT DHO enhances Mpox screening at Chileka International Airport

Blantyre District Health Office DHO has announced enhancement of Mpox screening at Chileka International Airport.

In a press release director of health and social services Dr Gift Kawalazira says the screening begun on 5^th August to prevent nad detect the spread of Mpox among the population

Kawalazira says Mpox has affected over 50000 people globally with over 17000 suspected cases in Africa

He says Mpox was declared a public health emergency of international concern by world health Organisation since July 2022

Therefore Blantyre district health office has urged travellers to cooperate with the exercise by checking in early to facilitate a smooth process
