Ministry, MANEB release 2024 PSLCE & JCE Exams

Ministry of Education in conjunction with Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has released the 2024 Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) and Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examination results.

Announcing the results Maneb Executive Director, Professor Dorothy Nampota says out of 252, 668 candidates who sat for PSLCE exams, 217,708 have passed representing 86.16%.

Nampota says out of the standard 8 students 106,907 are females while 110, 801 males

In JCE, out of 154 504 students who sat for the examinations, 110 002 candidates have passed, representing 71.20 percent and registering a slight decline from last year’s 72 percent.

Out of the 110 002 successful students, Maneb said 57 412 are males while 52 590 are females.

She says top ten performing education districts in descending order in PSLCE are: Zomba Urban, Phalombe, Likoma, Chitipa, Ntchisi, Zomba Rural, Mulanje, Karonga, Mzuzu City and Dedza.

The bottom ten education districts, in ascending order are: Nsanje, Chikwawa, Lilongwe West, Mchinji, Neno, Lilongwe East, Dowa, Lilongwe City, Mzimba North and Nkhotakota.

The performance of Education Divisions in descending order is as follows: Shire Highlands, South East, North, Central East, South West, and Central West.

According to Minister of Education, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima this year’s PSLCE and JCE exams were leakage free and released in time as first term of the 2024/2025 academic calendar commences on 16th September, 2024
