Police arrest Joseph Simeon for vandalizing ESCOM, Water Board

Police in Mangochi have arrested a man Joseph Simeon for vandalizing property belonging to Electricity supply cooperation of Malawi ESCOM and Water Board

Public relations officer for Mangochi Police Amina Tepani Daud says since April this year the district ESCOM office has been reporting incidents of unknown criminals vandalizing several transformers in various locations

She says the suspect was apprehended during the night at his house after the bicycle taxi operator revealed that he was sent by him

” The transformers were a being vandalised in Namiyasi, Mosiya, Mgundaphiri, Kalonga, Mpondasi and in homes whose owners were displaced by floods,”  Daud

Simeon will appear in court to face charges of burglary and theft after completion of paperwork.
