First Lady has urged communities to empower women and girls in the country in the field of Cyber security.

Addressing the audience during the commencement of a three-day Second Edition of Women and Girls in Cyber 2024 Conference Madam Monica Chakwera said women possess unique skills and perspectives that are essential in combating cybercrime.

She urged the participants to utilise the conference as a platform to exchange best practices, establish new partnerships, and ignite a fervor in young women and girls who will spearhead cyber security in the future.

Minister of Information and Digitalization, Moses Kunkuyu said government is engaging in these dialogues to shed light on its initiatives, policies, and regulations aimed at enabling girls to articulate challenges they encounter in the cyber domain.

Chairperson of Malawi Regulatory Authority (MACRA) Board Bridget Chibwana said the conference will foster a supportive and inclusive environment where young girls and women can explore various career paths and opportunities in cyber security.
