Director of Public Prosecutions appeals against Chisale’s acquittal

Director of Public Prosecutions DPP has appealed against the judgment by Lilongwe magistrate court of acquitting Norman Chisale, personal bodyguard of former president Peter Mutharika

The Director of Public Prosecutions says is not satisfied with the judgment that was given on 24th July 2024

The DPP says the lower court erred in law in misapplying the definition of the offence of use of insulting language in count 1 of the charge and intimidation in counts 2, 4 and 5.

Chisale was answering the charge of insulting the minister of Justice Titus Mvalo in a radio program
