Court Adjourns Albino Mure
Justice Bruno Kalemba has adjourned to a later date a murder case in which a three-year old girl with albinism was killed in cold blood.
The girl was murdered at night on 30th November, last year when she was sleeping with her grandmother at Mawawa village Traditional Authority Chulu in Kasungu.
The case is being heard in the High Court sitting in Kasungu and the state paraded five witnesses in the case where Mosten Mumba, the deceased step-father and five others are answering.
According to State Advocate Festus Sakanda, the six accused persons are answering four charges including murder, possession of human tissue, conspiracy to murder and extraction of human tissue.
So far two people including the step-father to the deceased have pleaded guilty to all six counts, two have pleaded guilty to the offence of being in possession of human tissue while other two have pleaded not guilty.
Sakanda said they have closed their investigation and the court has accorded them time to submit their submission on a date to be communicated.
Association of People with Albinism Vice Chairperson for Kasungu Chapter Sylvester Mhone said they are following the case with keen interest so that justice prevails.
The suspects include Joyce Nkhoma the grandmother to the deceased, Mumba, Charles Chipeta, Jeremiah Dodoli, Rodgers Sambo and Kennedy Zamala.
