Agriculture Ministry Finalizes Procurement Of Transport Services For AIP
Minister of agriculture has told national assembly that the ministry has finalized procurement of transport services to ferry fertilizer and other farm inputs
In his ministerial statement Sam Kawale said Members of parliament will not be involved in transportation of fertilizer in this year’s Affordable Inputs Program AIP but only small holder farmers revolving fund
Kawale said 13 companies have signed contracts to sell the fertilizer to beneficiaries and officials from the small holder revolving fund are in the districts identifying the selling points
The Minister of Agriculture said farmers will start redeeming the inputs before the first rains.
On addressing food shortage Kawale said since Friday last week when parliamentarians quizzed him he has met chief executive officer and board of ADMARC
