Sheikhs in Malawi advised to stop weakening Islam by personal differences
Sheikhs in the country have been advised to stop weakening Islam because of their personal differences
The advice was made during official closing of week-long workshop for sheikhs held in Salima district
In his speech one of the Saudi Arabia’s senior scholars Sheikh Hamd Abdul-Aziz Al-Ateeq said the misunderstandings between the sheikhs on smaller issues have a possibility of diving Islam in Malawi
Sheikh A-l-Ateeq said sheikhs need to respect each other and find better platforms of resolving their differences
The reknown sheikh highlighted that Islam is one therefore the sheikhs need to promote unity in their daily endeavors
Sheikh Al-Ateeq also reminded them what Islam says on the importance of respecting leadership
On this note he urged the sheikhs to take the workshop as a turning point and forget the differences and move forward for the interest of promoting Islam
On his part the grand mufti of the country Sheikh Muhammad Uthman Mtalika urged all participants to make use of the knowledge and skills they have learnt from the training
Mufti Mtalika said the workshop would be of no use if it will not benefit the Muslims in the country
Speaking earlier secretary general of Majilis Ulama Council of Malawi Sheikh Muslim Abbas Vinjenje said was satisfied with the topics tackled and the interest the sheikhs have shown
He said his organisation is intending to conduct such trainings so that the sheikhs be equipped with adequate knowledge
Sheikh Ahmad Chiyenda one of the participants expressed gratitude to the organisers describing the training as beneficial
He expects that the sheikhs will now speak one voice pertaining Islamic determinations in Malawi
The workshop was organized by Majilis Ulama Council of Malawi with financial support from Darul Sunnah Foundation
