UDF refutes speculations of Atupele Muluzi resignation from the party
United Democratic Front UDF has refuted speculations that its member Atupele Muluzi has withdrawn from the party and intends to join another political party
Last year Muluzi announced his resignation as president of UDF therefore the party appointed Lilian Patel as its leader
Speaking during eastern region committee meeting at Mangochi Turn Off in Balaka district governor of UDF in the region Alhaj Mkata said the party has organized a rally on 7th May in Mangochi where Muluzi and Patel will attend
He said the rally is one way of clearing all speculations regarding the matter
Commenting on the matter the UDF director of youth in eastern region Christopher Makani said are committed to work with any leader which the party will elect during its convention to represent it in 2025 presidential elections
Makani said time has come for the youth in the region to focus on reviving the party
