Kapichira hydro power station restored after a year of closure

Electricity Generation Company of Malawi EGENCO says Kapichira hydro power station has been restored after a year and few months

Kapichira was closed because it was damaged by cyclone Ana therefore the country lost 129 megawatts

According to spokesperson of EGENCO Moses Gwaza says the company is running one machine that is producing 32.4 megawatts

Commenting energy expert Grain Malunga says EGENCO should commission the 3 remaining generators to overcome load shedding and blackouts by ESCOM.
