Malawi Relief Fund UK donates 500 million kwacha houses to ultra-poor households in Salima
Malawi Relief Fund UK has donated houses and other non-food items to ultra-poor households in Salima to the tune of 500 million kwacha.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony at Bwanali village in the area of Traditional Authority Maganga, Issa Foundation representative from United Kingdom Mohamed Valli said they are committed to championing a number of developmental projects in Salima aimed at transforming social and economic lives of vulnerable people.
He said the Malawi Relief Fund UK and Issa Foundation will work hand in hand with the communities to bring projects that are beneficial to the communities.
In her remarks Traditional Authority Maganga thanked Malawi Relief Fund UK and Issa Foundation for constructing and donating houses to women and the elderly saying this will go a long way towards poverty alleviation among her subjects.
She then requested the two charitable organizations to construct a health Centre a school in the area.
Apart from houses, Malawi Relief Fund Uk in partnership with Issa Foundation have constructed a masjid, madrassa block, a house for sheikh and drilled 3 boreholes.
