Mai Halima Girls Secondary School awards best performing students and staff
Mai Halima Girls Secondary School has awarded its best performing students and members of staff for the 2021 – 2022 academic year.
Speaking during the award presentation ceremony held at the institution in Mulanje district, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Aisha Mambo Adams, hailed the school for the gesture saying this will motivate the rest of the students at the school.
Mambo said initiatives like these are crucial in helping the girls know their true value as well as instilling a hard working sprit in them.
The Second Deputy Speaker also took an opportunity to warn males who take advantage of school girls that they will face the long arm of law.
In his remarks, Head Teacher Mai Halima Girls Secondary School, Andrew Livanga said the event is part of their plan of transforming the institution into a school of excellence in two years’ time.
Livanga, said the achievement is as a result of good working relationship between the staff, management and students.
Representative of the best performing students, Falizana Khalifa, said discipline, prayer and hardworking was the secret behind her success.
She thanked management of Mai Halima Girls Secondary School for recognizing their hard warn efforts and encouraged her follow students to work extra hard in their studies.
The sixteen year old who scoped 13 points says she wants to study Nursing and Midwifery at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences.
At the function, 6 members of staff and 6 students received different awards, organized by the school’s Parents Teachers Association to a tune of two million.
