NPC holds fiscal incentives for entrepreneurship workshop
Government says it recognizes the crucial role that business players in all sectors play in contributing to economy of Malawi.
This was said during official opening of fiscal incentives for entrepreneurship workshop in Lilongwe
Speaking on behalf of Minister of Finance, Gracian Kandiwo deputy director on revenue policy division said this workshop is a follow-up on the entrepreneurship finance workshop done in May.
Kandiwo said there is need for the country to revamp and improve energy sector to boost economy.
He said government should put in place various mechanisms to achieve agenda 2063.
Speaking at the same function Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) Head of Corporate Affairs Steven Kapoloma said there are many tax incentives for businesses in the country aimed at helping enterprises grow.
The Fiscal Incentives for Entrepreneurship Workshop has been organised by National Planning Commission (NPC).
NPC Director General Thomas Munthali said they organized the workshop after delegates at the conference for Small and Medium Enterprises this year noted that absence of tax incentives is among the obstacles to economic growth.
