Prisoners escape Chichiri prison

Prisoners have escaped from Chichiri prison days after a police officer impersonator helped an inmate to free the same prison

Sources at the prison say the inmates escaped after they managed to dig a hole on the wall of cell where they had been urinating for a while to weaken it

Prison warders are conducting a head count to identify the number of the prisoners who have escaped

Spokesperson of Malawi Prison Service Chimwemwe Shaba asked for more time before commenting

The incident happens few weeks after another prisoner was found with two cell phones in his stomach at Zomba maximum prison
