Chakwera appoints two Ministers

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has appointed two cabinet Ministers of transport and public works as well as and local government

According to a press release signed by secretary to president and cabinet Zangazanga Chikhosi Chakwera has appointed Jacob Hara as Minister of Transport and professor Blessings Chinsinga as Minister of Local government

Their appointment follows the death of two ministers at the beginning of this year due to covid-19

Meanwhile, two ministerial positions of Labour and energy remain vacant

Former ministers of labour and energy were removed from their positions because of the scandals of 6.2 billion kwacha covid-19 funds abuse and fuel contracts award respectively.

Meanwhile Blantyre International University political scientist, Sherif Kaisi while commending the president for current appointments, said “ministers are crucial in as far as running of government is concerned hence it’s high time the president filled the remaining vacancies.”

Kaisi requested the president to release the long awaited cabinet assessment report so that Malawians should know its contents and honor his campaign promise of cabinet reshuffle as soon as possible.
