Imam development program trains Malawi sheikhs on best ways of serving Muslims

Muslims in the country have been urged to improve welfare of imams as they play a greater role in their respective areas

The call was made during a three day training held in Salima where 45 imams from various districts were equipped with skills on how best they can serve people in their working places

Speaking during the training director of imam development program IDP from South Africa Sheikh Dr Bilal Ismail said they organized the training after noting the challenges which the imams who applied for organization’s programs had stated

In his remarks Abdunoor Limbani Fundi one of IDP coordinators said “through the training imams shared the challenges, experiences and possible solutions to the problems they are facing.”

Fundi urged the Muslim community to change the way it treats imams in the country

Meanwhile, Yosuf Muhammad Telera one of the participants thanked IDP for the training saying through it imams have been equipped with new skills which will assist them in their work
