Bena Charity Trust operations affected by covid-19

Bena Charity Trust says the covid 19 pandemic has affected its operations as they have reduced the number of people who receive aid from the organization.

In an interview with Radio Islam Bena Charity Trust administrator Precious Kasopa cited government’s order for charity organizations to pay for permissions to carry out their operations

He said the fee had affected their service delivery which has resulted in the cut of the operations.

According to Kasopa, “we have maintained their operations in the education sector saying without Islamic education the ummah may suffer in future.”

He added that they have so far managed to maintain the madrassa enrollment despite the effects brought by the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the organization has expressed their continued commitment towards charity work in the country.
