Supreme Court of appeal nullifies parliamentary elections in Nkhatabay central
Supreme Court of appeal has nullified results of parliamentary elections in Nkhatabay central constituency
Raphael Mhone of People’s party challenged the victory of Symon Vuwa Kaunda as declared by Malawi Electoral Commission MEC
However High court in Mzuzu ruled in favour of Vuwa Kaunda
The nullification comes months after High court also nullified results of parliamentary elections in at least five constituencies
The by-elections in those constituencies were held on 30th March 2021 and December 2020
The court ordered a rerun due to irregularities in the management of the elections by the then MEC
