Malaw launches sports complex

State President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has said Malawi cannot produce a winning team without investing much in the sports disciplines.

Dr Chakwera said this when he laid a foundation stone for the construction of sports complex in Lilongwe.

The President said “my government vision is to ensure that Malawi sports is commercialized and make it a sector that talented youths can earn a living and build career.”

He however said his government recognizes the role sports legendaries played in promoting sports in the country.

The President therefore declared the sports complex as Griffin Sayenda Sports Complex to recognize his work in putting Malawi on the map especially in netball arena.
